Again, some time has passed since my last update.
The truth is that I have been working on another project. There’s still a lot of work to be done, and I still don’t have a demo.
But I wanted to return to this devlog and start a new series. I’ve been working on this project for a couple of months now, and I think this is the right moment to start sharing it.
I noticed that although I’m following an idea I got from a GDC talk — “never have a 0% progress day” — and I’m making daily progress, I haven’t shown anything of this new game to the world.
The truth is, this isn’t always completely true, since I don’t do anything on Sundays. But that’s another story.
I’m falling into old patterns — patterns that have led me nowhere in the past.
So, again, this is the time to start a new series, trying to make some weekly reports about how the project is progressing, what new features I’m working on, and simply as a way to share my thoughts and ideas.
Why a new project?
As I mentioned in its own series, Balanced Dungeons was just “a project to start moving”, to wake me up. And although I’m really happy with the whole process, I wanted to do something new.
I found a wonderful asset pack on itch.io (Tiny Swords) that matched really well with an old idea I had been keeping on the table.
So, I purchased it and started working on it.
What is it about? What game genre will it be?
That’s for another post.
Winds of change are blowing now, and more things are coming soon!
